Meet Emma

Movement has always been my first love and I it is now my job (although it doesn't feel like that as I love what I do!) and it was in 2016 that I left the daily commute and a demanding corporate career (having worked for News Corporation and The Football Association) in exchange for spending more time with my two daughters and to improve my work-life balance.

It was the obvious choice that led to many positive changes…

I qualified as a fitness coach in 2007 and ran classes alongside my day job until I made the move to make it my full time job. My goal is to make my workouts fun, enjoyable, energising, targeted and all about the correct form.

My passion for music is obvious and that is a really important component of my workouts and I find it really motivating. Exercise has been a constant throughout my life and my salvation during difficult times enabling me to immerse my mind and body, build resilience and lift my mood. I find the positive effects of leaving my worries and workload behind and moving my body transformative, but this is by no means a sob story!

I aim to thrive, not survive and would like to support and motivate other women to create healthy and sustainable habits for life, because we all deserve this!

As well as online classes and 1 to 1 PT sessions, I co-founded FitState (Outdoor fitness classes for women) in Winchester with my colleague and friend Zoë Baker in 2018. We have an incredible community of supportive women and it is not all about the exercise, it is about connection, being outside, camaraderie, creating a routine and a shared experience.

I love the great outdoors and movement is a way of life for me. I cross train and love to hike, cycle, jog and swim. In fact I like to call myself an aquaholic…..an avid open water swimmer!

I swim all through the year in the river or sea and have done so since 2020. It is transformational and the ultimate reset and I also love the camaraderie and support of the friendships I have created through it and earlier this year (with my FitState head on) I created the saltwater sauna sessions to offer the experience to a wider audience (This is 2 hour session 'the ultimate reset' including movement, yoga, meditation and the nordic cycle: a sequence including 3 or 4 rounds of sauna followed by sea dip) which has been a huge hit and we continue to host once a month (you are more than welcome to join us!).

Recently I completed the national three peaks challenge with a group of 26. I love coming together as a team to overcome challenges. It was incredible and I would recommend it but I definitely will not be repeating it! And I wan to invite you to join me to allow exercise to fuel your goals and your life.

We are all shapes and sizes, different ages and stages and from different walks of life with different pressures and stresses, but get us to a class and we’re one crew who support, motivate and most importantly leave with a smile on our face.
